Pieter, Gustav and staff, welcome you to The Noisy Oyster!

Pieter and I have been navigating the wild world of hospitality for 25 years now, fueled by a shared obsession with bold spices, incredible food, and the joy of making every guest feel like a local—no matter where they’ve traveled from.

We’ve always lived by a simple motto: Live, Laugh, Love. (And yes, we actually mean it!)

Our journey here started in January 2017. We fell in love with the spirit of “The Noisy,” grew right alongside the business, and finally realized a dream by officially taking the reins as owners in October 2024.

What’s on the plate?

If you’re looking for stiff white tablecloths and “tiny food,” you’ve come to the wrong place! Our inspiration is simple:

  • Bold Flavors: We don’t do subtle.
  • Real Ingredients: If it’s not fresh and honest, it’s not on the menu.
  • Heartfelt Service: We swap “fine dining” for “fun dining.”

At the end of the day, we’re all about serving up generous plates of food seasoned with plenty of laughter. We can’t wait to share a table (and a story) with you.

Great food in a laid back atmosphere which had a definite seaside ambience. It was on the expensive side but I have no complaints about the quality. I had the Seafood Laksa which was full of varied seafood and the sauce was delectable. Unfortunately I didn’t have space for dessert as the portions are generous. Service was extremely prompt even though the restaurant was quite busy. My only complaint is that the menu could have been more extensive given that it seems to be very popular.

One of the best places to go to and food top notch with a flair of classiness - yet a late back rustic atmosphere. Ame parking and clean. Vibe is good. There is only one thing i can suggest....not on tap Stella but bottles...and o eat least local beer like Black Label...not everyone drinks Caste lite/Windhoek - and Stella on tap....

Amazing vibes and even better food. The Noisy Oyster is a secret little gem in Paternoster with a colourful, vibrant vibe you wouldn’t expect from the outside. The cheeky menu is incredible, with vegan and vegetarian options as well. Book in advance so that you don’t miss out on this cozy dinner spot with your partner or group of friends!

We had a very pleasant experience. The food was excellent and served in a beautiful and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant is very child-friendly, which made us feel truly welcome as a family. The value for money is great. We would be happy to come back!

Fantastic restaurant in the centre of Paternoster, a real highlight of our stay! Great menu, great choice, great atmosphere and fabulous staff. We enjoyed a delicious meal - the pani puri starter, three baked oysters along with sirloin steak and the laksa were delicious. Unusually we also enjoyed a dessert as there were too many good options! The Torte Caprese was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was great, lively but not crazy - little thoughtful touches like 30 seconds cards on the tables passed the time with fun. The exterior does not to this restaurant justice, it has become a must visit for us when we next return to Paternoster. Oh and the toilets really brought a smile to our faces too! Thank you so much for a highlight of our trip.

The Noisy Oyster delivered a truly memorable lunch, made even better by the lovely service from Crystelle, who was warm, attentive, and knowledgeable without being overbearing.

We started with the non-alcoholic drinks and were seriously impressed. The Nomari and the Homemade Botanical Tonic were outstanding — beautifully balanced, refreshing, and the perfect non-alcoholic accompaniment to seafood. Easily some of the best zero-alcohol options we’ve had.

For mains, every dish convinced us. The Hake Velouté was delicate and comforting, with perfectly cooked fish and a creamy sauce that never felt heavy. The Baked Za’atar Baby Kingklip was exceptional — fresh, well seasoned, and beautifully balanced with the accompaniments. The Seafood Laksa tied everything together: fragrant, gently spiced, packed with fresh seafood, and rich without being overpowering. All three dishes highlighted the quality and freshness of the seafood.

Dessert did not disappoint. The Crème Brûlée arrived still warm, with a perfectly caramelised top and a silky custard underneath — super tasty. The Affogato was a great finish too, simple and satisfying.

Fresh seafood, thoughtful flavours, excellent service, and a relaxed coastal atmosphere — The Noisy Oyster gets it just right. A place we’d happily return to again and again. 🌊🐟🍮

Possibly the best food we ate in Paternoster - and even during our trip in South Africa. Flavoursome cuisine, served in a quirky, unforgettable setting. Thank you Gustav and Pieter for being so understanding when we had to cancel our initial reservation (and giving us a warm welcome when we finally could visit). Excellent service from Kyle, too.
